Silicon Valley Real Estate During Covid-19 Shelter In Place: May 2020 Update

Over the past many weeks we have all been learning what it means to Shelter In Place. What can we do? What can’t we do? Who can do what? What day is it? With guidelines changing every day, it can be a challenge to keep up with the current status of things.

Well, the time has come that you and your real estate agent now have the freedom to go see houses – both OCCUPIED and VACANT – and we are now also allowed to get houses ready for market including painting, cleaning, making repairs, performing inspections, staging, photography and all the other things we do to prepare our listings for market.

Of course, we must all remain vigilant about our safety and the safety of our clients, and there are several precautions we all must adhere to. When showing properties we are only allowed to have three people at a time inside any one house, and anyone who plans to enter a house must wear Personal Protective Equipment including face masks and gloves.

Everyone must also sign a CORONAVIRUS PROPERTY ENTRY ADVISORY AND DECLARATION form advising people about the risk of exposure and advising buyers and sellers about the need to exercise caution including disinfecting after each visit.

In normal times, your real estate agent should know the rules and have the knowhow and infrastructure to provide you with the highest level of service. This is more important now than ever.

Please let us know if you have questions.

Please be safe.
